Bio

Jem Chung is a professional singer - crossover/pop-opera style. She is also a curvemodel, content creator/influencer, ebook author, jewelry designer, accountant and entrepreneur. Jem has a bachelors degree in accounting & music (Long Island University Post) + a masters degree in music/voice (California Baptist University).

In 2010 Jem opened her little voice studio in Orange County, California. For over 10 years, Chung Voice Studio successfully trained hundreds of amateur and professional singers. Life-coaching and music healing was interweaved into the daily practices of the studio, which caused singers to thrive.

Her professional singing work includes church soloist/cantor and choir section leader at Christ Church Presbyterian, Irvine & Community Church Congregational, Corona Del Mar. She has sung for several opera companies: San Diego Opera, Pacific Opera Project, Riverside Lyric Opera, Pacific Lyric Opera and International Opera Institute. Jem has sung in worldclass venues such as, The White House, Crystal/Christ Cathedral, Dodger Stadium & Irvine Amphitheater. Jem created female retro-pop/jazz group, "The Pinups," which was tremendous fun.

In 2024 Jem worked as an Activities & Music Specialist for Atria Senior Living, further developing her understanding of music's life-giving and healing effects. Jem takes a nonconventional approach to human health & wellness, involving music healing practices + the best of modern medicine.

Between 2017-2025 Jem [mostly] took a break from her musical endeavors. She spent years roadtripping through the USA and finding herself. Jem bartended for world-class chefs/venues, including Tom Colicchio's Small Batch (Long Island), The Smyth Hotel (Tribeca NYC), Cecconi's  (NYC) and The Ned Nomad (NYC), where she partied with celebs and befriended bartender baddies. Jem worked mostly as lead bartender/bar manager. Her final hospitality job in 2025 at Vintage Vegas Lounge (Las Vegas), was a chance to finish this epic adventure and interim career on a high-note!

Money was always another passion for Jem. Having studying accounting in undergrad at LIU, Jem decided to circle back into the finance world. She is currently becoming a tax accountant in California and is hoping to pass her enrolled agent and CPA exam this year, 2026. She spends her days studying, meditating and creating social media content. She loves to spend time with her family, close friends and animals.

Jem was born and raised in Orange County, California, and then spent the majority of her adult life in New York, her favorite of all places. She has seen all 50 states via roadtrip, and has lived in LA, Charlotte NC and Las Vegas. She currently resides in California and is glad to be back home.
